Hi

First off let me say that I did a simultaneous back up recording on my laptop- so this is not a total disaster!

I set mepo to record back to back episodes of Spiral last night- via my pc

24.01.15
BBC4 HD
21:00- 21:55
10:00-10:55

I awoke to discover that it failed to record both episodes.

Could you please look at the log to decipher what went wrong?

The laptop recording worked fine and they have identical set ups

    Hi,

Logs show no evidence of any scheduling for the episode at 10:00. This show was not programmed to record.
The episode at 21:00 was attempted to be recorded but there were apparently some hardware issues:

    Code:

"Signal Level 0" doesn't appear to be right. You had other signals with much higher strength earlier. So no audio is detected for more than 15 seconds by which MePo is giving up.

    Hi,

You are running MePo 1.8. Have you considered to upgrade to 1.10 ?

Also you have plugins installed, which are not compatible with MePo 1.8. Thre are other plugin errors, all related to not using the current version.
This should not impact your ability to record though.

In your new log I don't see any attempt to record.

If there are not specific reasons to continue to use 1.8, I would suggest to do an upgrade installation of 1.10 and then try again. IN parallel to this you may want to run the TV Server config and test your channels in question (i.e. BBC 4 HD) using the preview option. If the preview window comes up with sound, any issue would be related to the client side.

    Hi

I stayed with an older version of Mepo for skin preference

I have tried to record at least 5 shows since the failed attempts yesterday. The red light indicates the start of a recording- but nothing is generated. I will upgrade and try some more test recordings

BBC4 only runs from 19:00 until 02:00, so no way to test until later on. I am mystified as to why it would just sabotage itself.

PS: The laptop has an identical set up and it records with no problem. This is very strange

StreamedMP is fully compatible with 1.10 (after updating it of course).

Regarding the recording troubles: can you please run another check? Kindly clear the log directory before starting, this way one doesn't need to dig through dozens of files ;). Then test the following:

Manual recording (red button on remote)
Scheduled recording (select a show that is imminent to start)

Gather logs and post together with comments what exactly you did.

I just tried to do another test recording. You can see from the screens that I selected a programme- but it can't write to the new hardrive that I have added to the recording path.[DOUBLEPOST=1422193949][/DOUBLEPOST]I will update my skin and clear the logs. Hopefully what I attached this time was not too lengthy :O)

I don't think it has anything to do with not being able to write to the disk.

You are simply not getting any PMT from the tuner. Can you actually watch this channel with this client?

Hmm. This is very odd. What is PMT and how can I regain this?

PMT stands for Program Map Table. The PMT is broadcasted by the provider and processed by the local tuner.

Can you describe your tuner setup (DVB-T ?) Having said this, it would be helpful if you filled out your system specification information in your profile and set it to "visible". For comparison: Check out my logo left and look under my name.

Unless you are running a client/server environment and the same server runs correctly with another client, I suspect that your tuner is having a hardware problem. Check cables for bad contact first. It really looks like a simple low-signal problem.
