Hi,

I have hauppauge wintv pvr usb2 hardware which does agalogue terrestrial tv / radio.

It also has S-Video input which I would like to record from. Connected to the S Video input is an external Satellite Set Top Box (brand = Manhattan).

Would I be able to make recordings from the S Video source.

Would I be able to change channel / switch on / off the external Satellite set top box using the MCE IR blaster.

If its not possible with this hardware, what would be the recommended setup, assuming I don't want to replace the set top box ?

many thanks.

Yes, you can record via S-Video. The input will probably be called SVHS, though. If you have an IR blaster then you SHOULD be able to control that box. That includes power on/power off, channel change, etc. Are you using the hauppauge ir blaster?

Hi,
Thanks, I'll install MP tonight and have a play.
I have the MCE remote (which I use with MCE) and MCE blaster (which came with MCE remote but I've never used it).
thanks.
