Recording HDTV as MPG? (1 Viewer)

hi,
I am using mp tv-server latest svn to record HDTV. Works fine. However, I can choose in the configuration dialogue that is has to be recorded as MPG, but it will always be end up with a TS file. Is it not possible to record as MPG in HD?

MPEG2 Video Codec: Different available e.g. Cyberlink PowerDVD up to version 7.2 ultra or WinDVD or others. Does not change anything, if I choose different ones.
MPEG2 Audio Codec: see above, Cyberlink PowerDVD 7.2, but changing the codec does not change the behaviour
Satelite/CableTV Provider: Kabel Deutschland or DVB-T
