Hi,
I have this weird problem that sometimes, planned recordings do not record the correct channel...
On the correct time, it starts recording, in the tv-guide it says it is recording the correct channel, but when the recording is finished, it turns out it recorded some other program on some other channel! In my recordingslist it also says it recorded this wrong show.
I can notice when it is recording a wrong program/channel because when it does, you can start a new recording on the planned channel...even when it indicates in the tvguide it is already recording that channel.

For example if I have planned to record Seinfeld, sometimes it records some other show, say Southpark, on some other channel, and that is what will show up in my recordingslist afterwards...

This is realy annoying, as I now never know for sure if a planned recording is actually recorded correctly...

Can anyone confirm this problem, is this a (known) bug and is there a solution?

I recently upgraded to RC3 and am having oddness with recordings too.
They either don't start at all or occasionally start then end a few minutes later.
I checked the logs and see the same as you - no errors and it all looks like it should be working.
I don't notice recordings from the 'wrong' channels though.
I added the recordings as new after installing RC3 - via the tv/search interface.
I'm curious if other people are seeing oddness with scheduled recordings?

Today, 4 good recordings and again, one wrong recording of the wrong channel :(

I'll try to delete and re-add all of my scheduled recordings today, maybe it'll help to get the recordings right in the future.
...And maybe I have the same problem as you, now you mention it... I think I miss some recordings too! But I'm not sure, I'll check that out too, when I get home (I'm at work, so I can't check it right now).

I think it's time for me to check out how this logging thing works :)

I just deleted all my scheduled recordings and added them again (well, the ones I could find again...).
What I saw before I deleted the recording is that it only happens for recordings that have "every time on every channel" for recording schedule.

Now what happens is that it starts recording the other channel that airs the show on other times!

For instance, if I have southpark planned "every time on every channel" for a recording schedule, and it's on, say, channel 10 at 9 o clock.
Later that day, some other, unrelated episode of southpark is aired on channel 3 at 11 o clock.
Now what sometimes happens is that MediaPortal starts recording at 9 o clock, but it records channel 3 instead of 10! :(

I'm really starting to think this is a bug that needs to be squashed before the final release...
Anyone else has the same problem?

OK, so it seems the majority of my problems were due to my multituner patches being reverted.
I did a windows update at the same time as moving to RC3 so that was the likely cause.
-- bangs head on wall - note to self: only change one thing at a time! --
I think my recordings were failing simply because the tuners weren't responding correctly.
I reapplied the multituner patch and it all seems more stable again.

Whao Broceliande, thank for the fast response!
I haven't posted my logfile yet because it doesn't happen very often. And it dod not occur yet since my last post.
But i'll try your latest svn. I hope the issue is gone! :)

    I'm seeing weirdness still.
    I start MP.
Goto TV guide and set "record everytime on all channels" for three current programmes (I have 3 tuners).
    I wait 10 mins - none start.
I remove one of the scheduled recordings and replace it with "record everytime on this channel" (for same programme). The recording then starts!
I do the same for the 2nd programme and that starts too.
The 3rd never started - I started a manual "record now" (time had moved to next programme by this point). The manual recording started fine.

    See attached logs.
No obvious errors - some odd "end times"

Also - related but no logs for this:
Every Sat at midnight there is episodes of "family guy" on bbc3(UK)
There are two - at 00:00 and 00:24 - the first is NEVER recorded.
    (this is an "Everytime..." recording)

    RC1 never gave me problems.

    Regards,
    BigJ

    Thx for the report ,
Just sent a new fix , will be in this nite's build.
Pls give it a try and let us know.
If i understood you correctly , the show you scheduled and wich didn't start was running already ?
Hopefully the fix will work for you.
    Thank you for testing/reporting

    Regards,
    Broce

    Edit:
You may will wonder why i didn't test the fix myself... well the reason is simple i just have no htpc running those times ( got to set them up back and not enough free time ).
Unfortunatly i didn't find a free tester in our team tonite who could test TVE2 stuff .
I decided to commit anyway , so that you may can test it yourself.
