Hi guys,

Maybe someone out there can help me with this issue. I just installed MP few days ago, fought with Hauppauge MCE Kit (eHome remote + blaster) to make sure that I can control my STB using IR blaster. MCE Replacement plugin helped me with that and now I am able to switch channels on my STB when viewing TV in normal mode, but for two nights in a row I was trying to test automatic recording and both times I woke up to find that recording happened, but on a wrong channel (STB was not told to [did not] switch to the proper channel).. So, this morning I decided to try and see what's going on and set MP to record a show that was about to start.. So, few minutes in advance I got a prompt asking whether I still want to record it, but it disappeared faster than I could reach for remote. So, I thought that was the problem - maybe it expected me to confirm? But then MP did switch to the proper channel and started recording. Also, when I left MP running for the night, I left it in the main menu, while this morning I was in the TV guide with some channel actually playing in a preview window.. Would this somehow affect the fact that channels were not properly switched?

Hope this makes sense.. I am a bit confused myself now

Shurik,

I think your last sentence is right on the money... When I want something recorded, I always make sure that the TV engine is running. That is, I CAN leave MP on the main screen, but only when I've already been in MyTV. So, the TV engine is always running in my case. This way, I know recording goes well.

Havok,

Thanks! And I hope you were referring to the last sentence in the first paragraph :D

Well, the thing is, I was watching TV all evening using MP and just switched to the main menu before going to bed.. However, I believe I pressed "Stop" button on my MCE remote before that - to get rid of TV preview window on the main menu screen.. Would that turn off the TV engine somehow?

Hello Shurik,

I believe I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm not quite sure what's happening, but my MP and my MCE replacement plugin somehow records on the wrong channel.

I have a Hauppauge PVR-500 with two STB's, and when I have scheduled a show to record it records that show (but not from the right channel on my set-top-box), but it has either:

1. Changed to the wrong channel on my STB
2. Changed to the right channel on my STB, but records from the wrong STB
3. Not changed the channel at all on either STB's

I have to try out some more, to see what is really happening.
