Recording tv? (1 Viewer)

I set up media portal to record a programme while i was out - i had turned mp. off (but left the computer on) . I asumed that it would start its self up but didnt, is there a way to get it to do this.

Also as a follow on - how do i set it up to come on when my computer is off to start recordings. thanks you in advance

What kind of MediaPortal version do you use?
In general MediaPortal in combination with the TvServer gives you the desired possibility to record a show
with MP being turned off.

Also as a follow on - how do i set it up to come on when my computer is off to start recordings. thanks you in advance

To do this you can use a inbuild plugin called PowerScheduler.

I think im not using the tv server- but am using 1.0.0.0rc2 . Think im using the older tv thing as iv changed the tvcapture card definitions xml file. thanks for the info on waking the system just need media portal to start once the comp is on now ?

You speak about automatically starting MP after booting?
If so then this can be done via MP configuration.
