Release of TV tuner devices (1 Viewer)

Hi!

(Sorry if this is a dublicate reqest.)

To me it seems as if MP is not releasing TV tuner devices properly after closing MP. This inhibits starting of other TV viewers after MP. This applies at least for Terratec HTC DVB-C Stick and probably also for Terratec DVB-T Diversity USB (2 DVB-T tuners) too because no TV tuner devices are available after closing MP. So one needs to restart the computer to use other sw after MP.

Unless I missed something, you say when you quit MP.
The MP Server Process would need to be stopped to release the cards.

It will be TV Server that is blocking the tuners, not MediaPortal. The TV service is normally always running in the background.

Having said that, the TV service shouldn't block tuners unless you enable the EPG grabber or set "when card enters idle state..." to pause. There is a warning about this in the wiki:

The TV service can be stopped in the "manual control" section of TV Server configuration or in the Windows service management console (MSC).
