Summary:

Remember where the TV guide was positioned.

Description:

One great feature of MP MyTV is remembering what channel I was last on, and returning me to that same point in the tvguide when entering the tv guide.

The new TVServer always starts me back at channel 2 (the beginning of the tv guide when entering the tv guide). It would be prefered if the guide remembered your last channel position like it does in MP MyTV. [Especially when you have 1000 tv channels]

Like many others, I only ever watch 2 channels and they are at the other end of the guide....takes a while to get to them each time. Not looking to create a group for 2 channels...but simply be back at the last position upon re-entry!

Thanks!

It still does this. Usually, when I press the guide button, I want to see what on next for the channel I am currently watching. Each time it starts you back at the top of the guide so I have to scroll the pages to find the channel I am watching. This is one suggestion definately worth looking in to.

Actually, I've noticed it keeps the postion in the guide from time to time. Its rather hit and miss...

A lot of us have been asking for this feature... if you search for it... you will find it in past posts... but I guess there hasn't been enough interest. If they implement this, it would save a lot of trouble for those of us that have to scroll through a couple hundred channels to get back to the channel we are on...

Actually, I should have followed up. For me anyways, in the last week or so of SVN's it has been working really well.

Of course, if it is still being a problem for some people, instead of scolling over and over - type in the channel number you want and it takes you to that spot - that works well also.

I tried out your Rev16043, and the guide doesn't remember the position of the current channel. If I revert back to the previous version, Rev16036 it works fine. For me its been working fine in the last week or two of SVN's.

For me the tvguide now always puts focus on the channel that is currently tuned.
    Isn't this what u wanted ?

The problem was that there was a comparison between a channels name and and channels displayname.
These would often not be the same.

Now the comparison (if statement) is done on display names.

    Hi gibman,

Lets see what others have to say about the newer REV.

When I tried it, it would always open the guide and start at the very top of the list regardless of which channel I was curretnly watching. Yet, the previous SVNs seem to work correctly.

As you said, my channel name and display names are different. I used TVServer setup to rename channels with sid in front of name.
