Hello All,

All I want to do is use my remote control to change the aspect ratio for the video that is playing. I am using the MCE remote and it has no button on it that controls this. It seems like this is a feature that should be supported.

Right now MP uses the "S" key to change the ratio and there is no way that I can figure out to map that key press to the remote. I know that IR Server Suite is out there but I would hope that I would not have to install and configure a whole new plug-in just to map one key.

Is there no simple way using MP to change what an already configured MCE remote button controls? For extreme example make the "Play" button control change the aspect ratio instead?

Please help!

David

I am using MP 1.0.1 on Windows XP Pro

It is :), its the blue button on the European\Asia MCE remote, which does this quiite nicely, could you move home to one of these areas for full remote support. ;)

Or you could map the skip> button or any other unused button to do this, under the mapping tab change button chosen "fullscreen video" to "aspect ratio", should now let you cycle through aspect ratios.

Thank you I will try this as soon as get home. This will be a huge help.

You don't know if there is a fix for the very fast rewind when trying to go back in a video? Right now FastForward works fine but if I try back (even just 2x) it goes faster than can be controlled.

Will have a look later today, just tried it and no visible rewind happening, just static picture, but then both cpu's are fully in use at this moment, so when they have finished transcoding the files, will try again.

This may be a problem as I never use ff\rewind, only ever use the skip steps left\right arrow keys, could be codec related, so will try ffdshow and xvid just to find out if its a bug or not.
