[QUOTE="Mercbac, post: 400416, member: 48233"] Just throwing in my own experiences. For a remote control I use Logitech's Harmony 885 on a Silverstone GD01-MX case, which means the IR receiver in my HTPC case is from Soundgraph and uses their iMon software. It's a bit of a hassle to set up, since the principle is that any IR code you send to the system (in my case with the Harmony) will be translated by the IR-driver into a keypress. On the positive side, that makes it also really flexible, since it allows you to assign any button on your remote to whichever keypress (or key-combination) you like, so that you can use all of MP's keyboard shortcuts and then you can even create more with the Keyboard Input plugin. For maintenance work outside of MP, I either log in from my regular PC via Remote Desktop, or otherwise use a cheap wireless keyboard with built-in thumbstick to control the mouse-arrow. My HTPC is used 95% with only the remote, so I did not have any big requirements for the keyboard, but with the Harmony remote I get a great setup because it also controls all my other equipment, like TV and amplifier.
