I got the silverstone LC16M case with the IR/VFD and a remote controller bundled. I should now buy my TV-card and I think I will go for Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1300T (does anyone know what the 'T' stands for?). I now wonder if I need to get this card and the Hauppauge remote or if it's possible to use the silverstone remote and in someway map the signals to the card using MediaPortal and/or Hauppauge software. It would be nice because then I don't have to get another remote. They look ugly.:D

I think the T stand for Teresteral. (DVB-T)

The remote have nothing to do with the TV-card when you use mediaportal.
As long as mediaportal support the remote you can use it for any tv-card you like.

Well, I can use my remote to do move around in mediaportal, changing songs, playing movies and so on. But you say it will then work to change channels and record?

I know a lot of people have this remote with this chassi and there are keymappings floating around. So I get the one without remotecontroller?
