Remote works w/monitor, but not w/TV... (1 Viewer)

Hi folks --

I'm using a Cyberlink Remote, MP 0.2.3.0, and an NVIDIA GeForce 6150 w/TV out on the motherboard. My monitor is LCD connected through the analog port, and my TV is a Wega connected through the s-video port. I can't use the monitor and the TV concurrently (ie - different desktops) but I can switch from monitor to TV and back with a hotkey. MP seems to run fine on both.

My problem is that the remote works fine (with the normal limitations) when I'm viewing MP on my monitor, but when I'm viewing it on my TV it seems to stop taking commands. I'm not too familiar with the software yet, but it seems as though it stops taking any command when playing a movie full screen, and I have to hit ctl-alt-del to stop the program to get control back. This is not the case when it's playing on my monitor.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Okay, a little more investigation seems to indicate that it may be something like the player losing focus, and that I only really noticed it when it was on the television, so the TV-only symptom probably isn't accurate.

So my current problem seems to be this:

-- The remote works fine navigating in MP.
-- I press play to get a video going full-screen, and it plays fine, but the remote doesn't work at all.
-- If I move the mouse until I get a cursor, and then click on the playing full-screen video, then I regain the remote functions.

Again, sorry, I'm new at this stuff. Any suggestions welcome.

Sounds like the remote may be losing the focus.

Try checking always on top in the mediaportal options.

This will at least tell you if something graping the focus.

That was it exactly Fred, I checked it off and it's fixed.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.

Best,
