Hi, Im having trouble getting my remote to work with media portal. Ive installed HIP and still having trouble. Ive got the drivers installed. When I set up HIP i cant fint the remote. Im running XP and ive got Rock vista remote control. If any one can help I would be very greatfull. Thankyou

Everything i can find about this remote it only works with Vista, not xp.

What does it show up as in Device manager, and do things like arrow up\down keys, volume etc work within windows itself (same as a keyboard).

Hi - In Device manager its ehome infrared Receiver and the drivers installed ok. Nothing works on the remote prior tring to working it on Media Portal. I'll lost..
ive tried anything ive also installed in on a laptop and it works really good with the same drivers.... The laptop is XP as well with Media Portal.

Might the diiference be xp home on the pc where it will not work and xp pro on the laptop, as xp pro natively supports this driver anyway.

Take it you installed kb888795, which is the driver for MCE\XP, did you reboot after install, try unplugging receiver, reboot and plug into one of the master usb sockets at rear of pc (0&1 which are normally powered +5vsb if configured in BIOS) once windows has reloaded.

If installed correctly should allow you to control Windows Media Player Volume etc, so you know its working.
