Hi, Do I understand well that the arrows do not work in other programs too (eg explorer)? If so, there was apparently a change in the mapping table ehome driver. Even though I'm not sure why? Actually, I discovered something in the log. Identified some bizarre type of MCE remote, see the lines: 2011-10-02 18:18:51.187500 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: MCE: Initializing MCE remote 2011-10-02 18:18:51.218750 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: MCE: Found: \\?\hid#vid_0471&pid_0815&col01#7&190293be&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030} 2011-10-02 18:18:51.218750 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: MCE: Using: \\?\hid#vid_0471&pid_0815&col01#7&190293be&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030} 2011-10-02 18:18:51.218750 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: MAP: using custom mappings for Microsoft MCE 2011-10-02 18:18:51.218750 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: MCE: MCE remote enabled Can you please look into the registry and export the contents of items: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HidIr\Remotes\4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030 and both attach to post. I'll try to get to the bottom of this. But before try something. Reinstall eHome driver (i suppose that you have USB Ir receiver. If not, get to know and the process will be different):

Uninstall driver "eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR)"
Unplug the IR receiver
Restart PC
Plug the IR receiver
Runnig automatic install procedure, confirm automatic installation ...
Probably back installs a standard MCE driver to solves it, if not we will investigate further. Export from the registers (as I described above) do two times, once before and once after driver re-installing. Good luck, waiting for your post with files ;) JiRo.
