Hey folks, great program!
For me there is only one major problem about it right now.
I got uncrypted Multicast IPTV through fiberoptic right to my doorstep.
If I plug the tv signals through a cat5 cable to my PC, i can use VLC to both watch and record the content of the streams, i can even watch multiple channels at once.

For me, making a HTPC, i would very mutch like to have these options fully integrated to MP together with the pause option.
Today there is just a smal simple plugin that allows watching of UDP Multicast streams with MP.
This is where my decision to build a HTPC eighter pass of fails.

Could someone pleace make my dreams come true? :D

Just have to ask: Lyse fiber? If so: Do you get all channels streamed in VLC (I only get NRK, TV2, TNorge + minor stuff).

This plugin does streaming (using VLC) very well, but no recording ATM.

I know of that plugin you are posting, and yes it does work for me too... But still, this is not enough, I can watch TV using my setup box, i am looking for a reason to use a HTPC.
And no, i dont use "Lyse", but i do get all channels in VLC

Doesn't TVEngine do the job for this? I have watched the tutorial vids, and I have to say that it looks quite good.

This sort of thing should be possible with the new TV engine. At the moment MediaPortal is limited to supporting sources that can also be used in Windows MCE. With the new engine MP isn't dependant on the Microsoft recording engine, so it can be extended to include IPTV streams, software based cards, poth parts of combined analogue and digital cards, etc. Basically, from what I can tell, any TV or radio source should be possible eventually, as long as someone writes the server module for it.

Hmm.. This is interesting for me to read...
So with TV server 0.3 i might be able to get this going with my UDP IP-TV streams?
But then I have to wait untill someone has written the server module for it..
Think im going to start installing TV server to test...

right now, MediaPortal has to rely on a plugin to get UDP IPTV streams as the core engine has no way to to "tune" to these "broadcasts".

With TVEngine3 all these things are possible :)

It might not appear in the first official release, but i would expect this to appear eventually :)

Well yeah, the TV engine 0.3 didnt show any way of "tuning" in to these streams, so i guess its not implanted in the software yet.
We'll just wait and see if this eventually will come..

A confirmation from one of the MP guys would have been nice :D
