Has anyone ever had any problems with a Hauppauge PVR-MCE-150/250/350 with TVServer and Windows 7 x64?!

On first start of the PC (and TVServer), TV is flawless. Once TVServer is restarted (net stop/start TVService) the TV picture becomes completely distorted. The only way I have found to fix this is to restart Windows.

Has anyone ever had this problem? I remember that it used to work fine in Windows 7 x86. I recently upgraded from an old P4 to Core i3 (and also x64). Does this have anything to do with it? Anyone have any work arounds? Could it just be a codec issue?

I don't see anything particular in the logs after restarting TV Service. Signal strengths are 100/100 (it's analog S-Video).

Thanks,
Grant

I have attached logs for when it works and when it fails.

It seems that even restarting Mediaportal can cause distortion....sometimes it's major distortion, sometimes it occurs only once every 10 secs or so.

The TV logs look identical...so maybe this is a codec issue!?

A quick update.

I did a bit of Googling.

Older Hauppauge cards seem to have trouble with 4GB+ of RAM in 64-bit Vista and Win7.

I simply went start > msconfig > Boot tab > Windows 7 (Advanced Options) > Set Maximum Memory to 3800.

I can now start and stop TVServer as much as I want. No distortion occurs. Hooray.
