restore from backup mp only (1 Viewer)

can someone please explain how do i restore mp from a backup as it crashed and i made a backup as it said,how do i get back to were i was before this crash with my backup.
im running vista ulitimate 64
ive tried renaming backup to mediaportal with no luck
please any help on this

AlfredENeuma ive tried this method to no advail ive did everything by the book and i can still not restore from a backup ...
anymore ideas on this would be great..

Hi John,

maybe now its time to get more information:

How did you make your backup (before it crashed) - manually or with some tools? Are you using a Server-Client-Configuration? Which folders did you backup?

It would be helpful also if you would show your system specs (User CP - Edit System Specification). Do not forget to make it visible (Your Details - Display System Specs).
