    Hello,

I was using the original MCE plugin with problems. It lose its function after playing a video (for instance). Only arrows and OK key still worked (the one that where keyboard mapping)

I tried the replacement plugin with a lot of satisfaction!
No more functionality lose, a lot of new features etc.
THe only problem I face now is that I can not "unblank" my screen with the remote...
When the screen goes blank, I must use the mouse or keyboard to resume the display.

Is ther any way I can manage that?

    Thanks a lot,

    JC

Try a recent SVN and let me know if the problem still exists.

I can't reproduce it here, but I'm using a recent SVN. Maybe something changed in MediaPortal since your copy.

Let me know if that works, otherwise I'll try making a change to the plugin that will force the "screensaver" to disengage.

    cheers,

    Hello Aaron,

I' try and let you know in a few days.
Actualy, I use the last stable version (not SVN).
I will migrate to the last SVN and give you some feedback.

    Thanks for the follow up!

    Best regards,

    JC

I'm using IRSS 1.4.2 Test Build 2391 and I have the same issue with the screensaver. Once the screensaver comes on, the remote won't kill it. I need to use the keyboard or mouse.

I finally ended up mapping a button on the remote to a vbscript that kills the screensaver. This solution works but I'd rather just be able to press any button on the remote to get rid of the screensaver.

I'm using Vista x86 Home Premium with an MCE remote. I configured the Input Service to disable the advanced buttons on the remote. This prevents the remote from sending the respective keyboard keystrokes when pressing the directional keys on the remote. I'm guessing this is why the screensaver isn't being killed.

    Any help would be appreciated.

A suggestion is to disable the windows screen saver and use the built-in screensaver in MP. The MP screensaver only blanks the screen but at least it goes away when using the remote.

    Thanks for the reply.

That solution doesn't really work for me. There are often times that I leave the TV unattended with just the desktop displayed and MP isn't open. I really need the Windows screensaver to be enabled.

It would be cool if the MP screensaver disabled the Windows screensaver while MP was running so I wouldn't have to disable the Windows screensaver globally. Maybe it does that, I haven't tested it.
