After many happy years of using mediaportal, i have come across an error that i just can't sort out, when this error happens, these are the faults i have

1. when i watch a video it will play the fist time ,but after that there is no resume option, and the video will not play at all
2. Also the folder to my music , my music list nothing displayed (empty)

The only way to fix this is if i change a few setting in Configuration, this will fix the error , but after a restart error again

I have reinstalled windows , reinstalled mediaportal v1.1.2 no plugins installed, blue2wide

Could you please help me, or give advice as to what this error may be Many Thanks ......

    There is something wrong with your path and MP try to load from different locations the Dialogs.dll.

    Exception :confused:ystem.InvalidCastException: [A]MediaPortal.Dialogs.GUIDialogMenu cannot be cast to MediaPortal.Dialogs.GUIDialogMenu.
    Type A originates from 'Dialogs, Version=1.1.2.20600, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' in the context
    'LoadFrom' at location 'C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\windows\Dialogs.dll'.
    Type B originates from 'Dialogs, Version=1.1.2.20600, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' in the context
    'Default' at location 'C:\progra~1\teamme~1\mediap~1\plugins\windows\Dialogs.dll'.

    The second path looks weird to me its the old DOS 8.3 Format.

    Thanks for your reply Marvman
    I have found out the error with your help (something wrong with your path and MP try to load from different locations)

    The problem was i have the hauppauge 45 button remote, and followed these instrutions to start mediaportal using the green button

    In c:\windows\irremote.ini go to the [default] section and replace
    the GRNPOWER section by- GRNPOWER={run("c:\progra~1\teamme~1\mediap~1\mediaportal.exe")}

    Iv'e use the remote to start mediaporal for a long time with no problem , but something must have gone wrong, because this is what caused the error

    Starting mediaportal from its shortcut mediaportal is ok runs fine

    Many Thanks for your help

    need to find how to change this line - GRNPOWER={run("c:\progra~1\teamme~1\mediap~1\mediaportal.exe")}
    So mediaportal will start correctly with the remote

    Open the c:\windows\irremote.ini with a editor (ex.: notepad) and replace the line c:\progra~1\teamme~1\mediap~1\mediaportal.exe
    with C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe.

    That should do the trick.

    Good luck and great that you solve the problem
    Greetings
    Martin

    H'i Marvman, Thanks again for your reply

    Could you confirm i have inserted the line correct for the irremote.ini
    I have replaced the old line - GRNPOWER={run(C:\Progra~1\Teamme~1\Mediap~1\Mediaportal.exe)}, with yours, the full line now reads

    GRNPOWER={run(C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe)}

    For this now gives the error - application not found ....

    Thanks..

    Sorry I dont use this.

    But try to set the path in quotes because windows has sometimes problems with spaces in paths.

    GRNPOWER={run("C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe")}

    GRNPOWER={run("C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe")}

    Thanks,
