Rewind and fast forward very slow in responding (1 Viewer)

Note I tried to use the tool for autogenerating the support template but got a run time error. I will attempt to fill in the blanks manually:

Synopsis:

When trying to fast forward while watching a recorded program I try to press the right arrow to fastforward. This immediately shows +15 seconds. At this point, the display is frozen (like it is paused) then in about 10 seconds the video starts playing again. It does appear that it has jumped +15 seconds.

This same thing happens when trying to rewind.

Any ideas on why things are so slow? Any tips on improving the responsiveness?

Below is my mediaportal.log file contents. I turned my Winlirc off to see if that might be messing things up. I did notice a line that said vmr9 disabled . Is there something I need to do to enabled it if it is indeed not enabled?

I did a little test using perfmon. When fullscreen video is playing, I'm seeing about 50% processor usage, but whenever I hit rewind/fast forward, the processor usage goes to 100% for the full time that I have to wait for it to seek the new position. Then it drops back to the 50% usage again.

What things can be tried to improve this? Is it a decoder issue?

I will try any tips you guys can offer. This is one of the last things I need to tweak before I can put the box to daily use. Imagine if you couldn't fast forward or rewind. Ouch!

Thank you for the reply. I have not tried using a dvd. Only with live tv and recordings. I do not have a dvd rom in that box so I will not be able to test what you are asking me to try. All video I have on the box is standard def.

i'm just guessing now because i'm not entirely sure why yours takes so long to jump, normally you press it , it shows 15+ and then it skips to forward, perhaps there is a crazy setting in the ZAP OSD delay on yours, in the settings of MP there is an option under general from memory that has the ZAP delays, check to see if yours is some crazy time frame in seconds. I'm just guessing on this one as i think the ZAP delay is only for TV but it may be for videos as well?
