it might be that the developers left this in intentionally. But it is strange. While viewing tv or video a right click exits mediaportal.

No, it´s a problem with your setup. Right clicks should do the same as pressing ESC - show previous screen - while you´re not in fullscreen, in fullscreen mode a dialog window should appear. Maybe there´s something wrong with this dialog.

There´s an option in configuration under general "use left doubleclick as right click".
Maybe you should try to en- or disable it. Maybe that helps.

I think I have to disagree with this one. Escape is not the same as a right click.. at least it never was. Escape is the [back] key that returns to a previous window. The right mouse brings on a contextmenu to change things.

In any case there shouldn't be a single key that closes the mediaportal. The only exception should be ALT+F4.

Ronald

OK, if you think so. But you only get a contextmenu by right click, if you click on a file or anything else, or you click right in fullscreen. In any other case ( for example lower left corner ) right click means back, doesn´t it ?

However, you´re right when you say that sometimes ( or maybe even most times ) clicking right will give you a context menu. And I think there´s your problem. Is MP really closed when you rightclick or does it crash ?
And you´re right again...ALT+F4 sould be the only key to close MP.

Did you ever deactivate topbar ? Just an idea....
Long time ago every key or mouse click was recognized by the topbar. But that bug was fixed long time ago.

I am starting to feel like an idiot here... but I am finding more keys that exit mediaportal. This can't be normal and surely can't be explained by a misconfiguration. Now the 'i' key on my remote also exits MP in the tv guide. Pressing the 'record' key has the same effect.

I am sure it's me ;-)

    hi,

reinstalled mp with the latest cvs. the problem is solved now. Don't think we'll ever find out what the problem was.
