Running Media Portal under Windows 7 starter? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking of using MP on a netbook for DVD playback ( an external drive, since most netbooks don't have and internal one). Many netbooks come with Windows 7 starter, which specifically disables DVD playback. Does anyone know if this means MP will not play back DVDs under W7 starter? Does anyone have any experience using MP with the starter version? Thanks.
