running rc mp stereo to 5.1 possible (1 Viewer)

current running mp rc2
anyway
in music i can select upgrade to 5.1 anyway
the tv tuner outputs in stereo and in tv plugin all set up and working but sound only outputs in stereo
would like it to be upgraded to 5.1
have tried to switch on fdd mixer and selecting 5.1 output
but does not seem to want to up mix to 5.1
anyone done this before

I use FFDShow audio codec to up all my audio to 7:1 with LFE, this seems to work pretty well, have FFDShow set as audio codec under all the settings in MP config, so i assume it shuld be possible if your speakers are being fed from a pc soundcard whether its onboard or not.

Definately works for AC3Filter (which I think is embedded in FFDShow). This is the audio codec I use for TV/Movies.. remember to uncheck the MPEG passthrough or it will bypass the upmixing.
