Hi Shawn and welcome to MediaPortal...

Could you please use the Support Template and post as much information about your issues as possible.

If you are getting BSODs with both MediaPortal and WinDVR, then I would suggest that it is an issue with the drivers for your TV card - check the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.

Without knowing the actual brand of remote control that you have, it is hard to advise you if it will work, or can be made to work, with MediaPortal.

And you need to be more specific about the problems you have with the guide - I assume you are referring to the EPG? Describe what you have done and what you have achieved, and I am sure we can help you out.

Also, could you also please use the "Caps" key a bit more often, to make your postings a little easier to read.... :)

If you can find 50 bucks or so, I would highly recommend picking up a hardware based TV card with BDA drivers as this will make your life a lot easier.

Also, I do think you need .net 1.1 and .net 2.0 installed. I would also suggest using periods to end sentences and capital letters only for proper nouns and for the begining of new sentences.
