Fresh install of MePo, some of the files I used to play are not working anymore...

I don't really understand what happen. I reinstalled a frsh MePo 1.2 alpha on a frsh win 7 ultimate 64 bits, and some files that used to work fine on my previous install stopped working (this previous install was used with mepo 1.0, lot of other codec packs, etc, and I kust wanted to start on a clean install).

I installed saf 5 beta 101201, unlocked. The file shows a green box when opened in graphstudio for a "Mpeg4s Decoder DMO" filter between MPC-avi splitter and the EVR renderer (see attached screenshot). When playing the file, I got sound but blank video window.
I get the same result playing the file in mepo or mpc-hc, but it plays just fine in WMP.

Any idea of what happen? I always played this file fine, it stopped working on my previous install after I installed then uninstalled shark007 codec package, thus leading me to reinstall the whole machine - but no luck.

Note I also have other files doing the same, unfortunately more in the kids anime folder than any other place

Any help would be appreciated,

As written before, I work for the theatrical trailer is no longer (My cinema program plugin) and in StreampedMP Skin (trailer). As far as I can click on everything and push me through the plugins, only when I press it to play for precious metal trailers or the quality select them, hangs MEPO, I still hear key sounds, but it does nothing. I get it finished only on the task manager. I think it is due to a lack Codeceinstellung.Oder me what (is believed the trailer plug used) mov files? If yes believe QuickTime trailer. In the theater program but is nothing, only because I know not what these are for what! at the very beginning of the times KLite had it, so at least went to my theater program trailer. In between I had time yet Sharks codec pack on it and now I've ended up with SAF 5, which would keep me too. Only two things I would like to get to run again and would like to ask you for tips as information and assistance !!!

Hi hoborg, I get a lot of AVI-CHUNK-VIEWER with almost all of my HDTV divx rips, but only when selecting a video and pressing PLAY on my remote, then I need to Alt+Tab and then Alt+F4 to close It and resume normal playback.
If I select a movie and press OK on my remote (SMR-140) the movie plays fine with no avi-chunk-viewer.

I've only installed MPO and saf 5.00.

For the time being I've just renamed avisplitter.ax to avisplitter.bak and the problem is solved. I have no problems as far as I can tell, is it OK to leave it that way? Or is there a better solution? It's very annoying when I forget and press PLAY and I need to connect a keyboard to fix it.

QT trailers plugin need to be updated, it doesnot working in latest MePo, use online videos plugin instead.

This wiever apear on wrong encoded/damaged AVIs - they have broken header. By disabling avi splitter, some AVIs will fail to play.
You can fix errors by open and save (without recompresion) AVIs in VirtualDub or convert them to MKV in MKVMerge.

Hey, thanks for your great work. Most video playback is workig fine, but didn't tested audio playback (don't hve the receiver) yet.

1. I have problems with the h.264 Video codec in "Video" section. When I change the codecs in the config, it doesn't have any effect in MePo. I tried this with Graphstudio. It's using the ffdshow video decoder all the time. No matter if I try the PDVD10 Codec or the ffshow DXVA decoder.
edit:I've tried to change the mpeg2 codec and it works. But i still wonder why my Video ist played as mpeg2. I played it in DXVAChecker as h264.

2. Any idea why can't use the ffdshow dxva video decoder for HD TV playback? Picture freezes directly after starting the TV channel.

I had the same problem, I don't know why it appears suddenly (maybe a windows 7 update) but I know how to fix it:

I don't know if you speak french so I hope you can handle it. Go to paragraph 5.3 because this is the one that interests us and, after installing Win7DSFilterTweaker:
Win7DSFilterTweaker Free Download and Reviews - Fileforum
Configure it like described: Let the default settings (Verify that mp2 and mp3 are set to ffdshow otherwise do it) and click apply, then apply a second time without changing anything on the second screen and then on the third one, check "Disable mpeg43 decode dmo" and the 2 others like in the picture. IT will tell windows that ffdshow will handle this formats too.
Then your AVI will work again on MePo

Strange, i didnt found anything...
I cannot reproduce it.
You can crate small video sample in MKV merge.
