Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello,

does your directx installing gets the last june 2010 version?

Error during installing SAF last version under 7 64 bits (need rights to run d.bat even in administrator execution)

Yes.
And "d.bat" - maybe SAF try to overwrite something what is in use. I will send you PM...

Hi fabien44

Error during installing SAF last version under 7 64 bits (need rights to run d.bat even in administrator execution)

I find I get these authority errors if I try to reinstall after an uninstall without rebooting. If I uninstall SAF, reboot and then install new SAF the new files seem to replace the older ones OK.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello,
I have a question regarding SAF installation.

i have connected my pc with an AV receiver using optical cable. If i want to decode all my audio on the receiver, should i choose audio passthrough during saf install?

and if yes, is it the only thing that i have to do?

Regards

    Hi Hoborg,

what do you think about MS DTV-DVD video codec provides by default with Win7? Did you compare with ffdshow/cyberlink/MPC for live TV mpeg2/H264 contents?

    Thanks

ps: for myself, i find it better than MPC for live TV on my system with ATI 4550 driver 11.2 but i can just notice that it could be smoother on rapid scenes. I cannot test SAF5 because i cannot install it yet.

    Hi.
FFDshow is not recomended to be used for LiveTV under MePo - you will have A/V desync if used for MPEG-2 (something in MePo TS reader) and h.264 will probadly not work at all.

I dont have access to HD LiveTV and i dont use MePo, so it is hard to say.
My HTPC is WinXP + GB-PVR based, and if i play HD recording, PDVD 10 decoder working great for me - remember, you need unlocked SAF to have PDVD decoder available.

I have only access to SD MPEG-2 LiveTV, under GB-PVR (MS demultiplexer) FFDshow working without any problem since i start to use it.
