Interesting - my bluray vid im attempting to play is vc-1, should this make a difference? I've enabled VC-1 as dxva on the video encoder settings, i have an nvidia gforce 9400gt if that helps?

I am not sure if your 9400 support VC-1 decoding.

Hmmm...interesting. You might have hit the nail on the head there - and i feel like slightly a fool for not realising it before. I'm doing a bit of research now - i went for this card a year ago after hearing about its good performance in the HD video space...maybe i got sucked in and actually it's not that great - it might be time for an upgrade. Many thanks Hoborg...you obviously know your beans!!

Hello Guys,

I have MP 1.1.3 & SAF 5.02 Installed with AC3 and DTS SPDIF pass-through.

Everything works fine except some MKV (AC3 audio) files which refuse to work, they immediately return to file list.

If I remove SPDIF pass-through, they play fine.

Is there something I can do to fix this ?

Thank you in advance

You can ignore my post. I decided to switch to using Haali and FFDshow independent programs instead of SAF. All seems well now.

I decided to change from SAF4 to SAF5 since then I'm having trouble with audio blips. I've changed nothing in the setup between the two version from what I can tell.

SAF4 uninstalled then 5 installed. I'm using SPDIF output to home theatre amp.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a cure. I'm going to try and drop back to SAF4 and may try SAF 6 to see if there is any help there.

Hi Hoborg,

is it possible to set the video buffer size somewhere?

when i connect my htpc wireless (N) and play a 1080p mkv video, sometimes i have a stutter for 1 or 2 seconds because the wireless is somewhat interrupted. Perhaps a somewhat larger buffer can solve this.
