Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I installed the latest SVN today. To my dismay my "blackout" problem during DVD playback is back, although I think it appeared in the SAF version before this one as well. I am still unsure of how to log the problem, since I have to reboot every time it happens. Any ideas?

I doubt i can help you with that :(
Try to rip (decrypt) DVD to folder on disk (not ISO) and play it localy.
BTW, this is oroginal DVD or homemade?

Other DVDs working ok?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I will try ripping it do the hard drive, good idea! My DVD problems seem pretty random. These are all originals. I have season 1 of Alias, which will only display the initial TV company logo or whatever. When it's supposed to go to the menu, I only get a black screen. I can hear that the menu is still usable, only that I can't see what I'm doing. The other DVD I have tried is The Motorcycle Diaries, regular PAL DVD. That one blacks out after maybe 5-10 minutes of playback, demanding a reboot.

Maybe it's a driver problem, or some Win 7 bullshit?

Playback in MPC-HC works?

I'm trying my Che DVD in MPC-HC now, well see what happens. I hope my media PC doesn't get tired of all my hard reboots and decides to die on me :)

EDIT:
OK, it took a while longer but after maybe 20 minutes the screen blacked out again, using MPC-HC. Audio continued as usual. This time however there was no need for a reboot. I could kill MPC with Alt-F4 and then I was back to the desktop. It seems it doesn't lock the pc up then. It's only a bit of a struggle to regain control. When I play the DVD in Mediaportal though, I can never reach the desktop and regain the picture.

Sounds like my problem, check out a Bug report (not mine) stating that it crashes/locks when pressing menu button.

Hmm, well that doesn't sound exactly like my problem. My system doesn't really lock, and it doesn't only occur when I press the menu button. In the case of my Alias DVD the menu just doesn't display, but I can hear from the sound effects that it's actually there.

Today's SVN introducing shotcut control.

CTRL+ALT+O - enable/disable OSD
CTRL+ALT+S - enable/disable subtitles

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I've recently switched from SAF4 to SAF5.

I'm still having a problem with playback of both AVI's (which are on another PC, so over the LAN) and TV recordings (stored locally on the same PC as MP is installed on), where they get stuck/loop for a couple of seconds. It seems to happen with every file, but probably occurs more frequently during playback over the LAN of an AVI, than local playback of a .ts file.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello,
I have installed this version of SAF on my MediaPortal 1.1.0RC1 on XP. When it is installed, I cannot play tsstreams (LiveTV will not play the buffer), but I can view online videos and flv files fine. Uninstall SAF and the TV works but obviously I cannot view flv/online any more.

The same thing happens with version 4 of SAF.

If I open a ts file in graphedit it will play (I'm not sure if this is meaningful or not).

Is the solution to this known, or can I assist with log files or something?

Cheers
