Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Can it be that with MPC-HC splitters now view modes don't always work correctly? I have some 4:3 videos, these stretched fine before, but since I installed this SVN they don't stretch. Can this be SAF or should I look somewhere else?

I wonder since Intelligent Frame Correction doesn't 'fix' all files anymore...

Well, open your video in graphstudio - is aspect correct here?[/QUOTE]

How is that done? :p I know how to open a file to check which filters are used, but how is checking aspect ratio done?

And what comes to MP to support something in SAF, it wont happen for SAF. MP might support some more splitters in the future, but not because SAF uses those. MP's existence is not for SAF :)

Exactly. And that is why i wrote "hope FFDshow will support it soon to be player undepended". FFDshow not only accept keyboard shotcuts, there is remote support too.

Currently, there is not "perfect" splitter solution, both haali and MPC-HC splitters have bugs, but i think you knonw this wery well.

BTW, there is only problem with subtitles, audio switching working still the same. And i think there are alredy some kind of patch (not sure about that).

Open in graphstudio and hit play. Is played video in correct aspect?

How will ffdshow handle the remote controls? Does it provide some drivers for the different remotes (also as MP is already using and receiving the remote control commands it will be pretty hard for ffdshow to intercept the messages). If it provides some API that is used to communicate / switch the streams then it would require either

    1) MP to be extended to support the ffdshow's interface
    2) Using a remote application outside MP that will send part of the commands to the MP and part to the ffdshow

That is question to FFDshow team not me. SAF 5.0 is experimental, there is stable 4.0 with full support for MP.

Just to note that ffdshow alone cannot solve the issue.

    Sorry, I forgot them.

But here they are. I've added a screenshot from regedit.

Thanks. You have 2 languages installed and i think that is the problem (SAF is confused).
I will post you test version, so please try it.
    It's working now, thanks.

I've got a question. Why has the en-US folder in my registry disappeared after installing this test version?

Will there be any problem if I install PowerDVD 9 after installing SAF? I'm using it to view Bluray movies.

It is in 4:3, like the video is. The problem is I can't stretch to 16:9 or anything.

I can confirm it's related to the new version. 4:3 can't be stretched to 16:9 anymore... or am I the only one?

Stretching are done by MP, not SAF.
Can you post small sample to test?
