Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi hoborg.
Please make a new build as soon as possible due to this addon in ffdshow:
rev3491: Added edition support to IAMStreamSelect and ffdshow vdieo context menu.

This is added in albain's patch here as well..
:D

The latest build right now is 3488 as far as i can tell?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

With DXVA disabled they worked in graphstudio, but in MP they don't work and some of the others movies work in slow motion....

Ok, found the problem: it's the audio codec! If I change the audio codec from ffdshow audio to Microsoft DVD it plays the movies fine (except 300 with macro blocks that only plays fine in MPC!). But with the microsoft codec i can't change audio streams so i don't know what to do.... (and I don't like ac3 filter since I always have sound drops...)

Just for test, try to disable Passthrough durning SAF install. Does your videos works now in graphstudio?

MePo config, Music - Player: Internal DShow player.

Thanks a lot. But not played, still hear noises...
But in foobar2000 +DST plugin all ok.

OK, i added DTS/AC3 source filter in to next SAF, now it is possible to play *.AC3/*.DTS audio files in MePo (DS player)

It works but then I loose audio stream switch in MP... ( and 300 keeps with the blocks issue)

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi,

This may be a known problem, but a forum search didn't give me the solution.

Since installing SAF 5 yesterday, I do not seem to be able to play MPEG1 video files. The audio plays fine, but I just get a black screen.

I have checked in the ffdshow settings, and MPEG1 should be handled by libavcodec. Changing this to libmpeg2 does not help.

My second client system, with almost identical software apart from no SAF plays these videos fine.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Hm, can you provide small sample to test?

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately this did not fix it.

    Best wishes,

hmm, did you do the changes in FFDshow without dxva?
it solved my problem and the one of a friend of mine

    Yes I did.

    I have now fixed it.

I simply disable MPEG1 support in the codecs section, so that presumably another codec handles MPEG1.

I checked on my other system with a 'normal' ffdshow installation, and this is how it was configured.

I have sent hoborg one of the files that would not play with the standard SAF install, so hopefully he can confirm and if necessary take the correct course of action.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
