I'm having problems with getting FFDShow DXVA to kick in in Mediaportal. I've got a blu-ray that will play with DXVA in media player classic HC and graph studio shows DXVA also but when it's played in MediaPortal it plays with standard FFDshow.

I also have several apple .mov 1080p trailers from Toy Story 3 - Movie Trailers - iTunes that won't play with DXVA in MediaPortal but do in MPC-HC. The video in all of them is also about 1 second behind the audio in both but that seems to be more to do with the MPC-HC codecs/FFDshow as VLC player plays the file OK.

If you want any logs or screenshots let me know. I'm setup as per the instructions on the first page of this thread.

Are you sure you setup MePo to use FFDshow DXVA decoder?
Becouse if it is working in Graphstudio, then SAF works as it should.

How experimental is SAF 5 at the moment? I tried it out way back, but went back to 4, which is really great. Is there a real good reason for settling over to 5? Maybe to make the soon coming MP 1.1.0.0 perfect?

My HTPC is runing on latest SAF - stable as rock

Hi,

I have installed the lateste Build.
My problem is, I cannot open avi files.

Graphstudio: "unable to render"

mkv Containers are working fine.

I uninstalled Halil befor installing SAF 5, but it seems to me, that there is something broken in the Regestry.
If I re install Halil on top of SAF 5 (I know thats not "right"), avi files are working correctly.

Any ideas?!

I located some mess in your registry.
Please try this build.

I just wanted to say great work on this codec pack, I did a clean install of Mediaportal and SAF5 yesterday for the first time, and its running like a champ. Avatar runs so smooth with the GPU doing the work.

Yep it is set to FFDShow DXVA. It is working as expected in the supplied MPC-HC which I can confirm with GraphStudio. I have not tested loading the file in graph studio itself however. Using latest SAF5 beta

No idea what failing to load DXVA decoder in MePo.
Can you try play this file in MePo and post MePo LOGs then?

Uninstall SAF 4, Install your Test-Build -> Perfect!

Any chance that ffdshow will replace the need for the PowerDVD codec in SAF in the near future?

Sure, I take it you mean the file I'm having problems with. Or do you have a test file I should try?
