Re: SAF v5.01 *final* (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi Hoborg,

Any plans to keep SAF5 updated (ffdshow, PDVD, etc), or is this finished and only SAF6 will be worked on now?

    Thanks,

    J.

    I'll pm you...

    Working just fine in Graphstudio...

Still some troubles with mp4's in onlinevideos. example mp4.

with saf 4.00, the first time i play that video I get an error, the second time it plays ok (graphstudio: file source (url)->haali->mpc video decoder+coreaac audio decoder), however with saf 5.00 (final) it won't play at all. If I download that video, then it plays ok (graphstudio: file source (async)->mpc mp4 splitter->ffdshow video+monogram aac)

Does it happends with SAF6 too?

    Hi,

FYI - SAF5 appears to have a dependancy on a Windows Service(s). I had disabled a lot of Windows Services on my HTPC which I considered not required for running MP - one of which appears to cause the installation of SAF5 to not complete correctly i.e. during installing I see File Access denied errors for several files including d.bat in c:\T (which is created by your installation). When I set all my Windows Services which were Disabled to Manual the installation completes without error. Sorry, I don't know which service(s) is the culprit.

On another note I get the odd dropped frame in MP 1.1.3 (when doing shift+1) when using SAF5. Its only very occasionally i.e. one dropped frame every 30mins or so. If I uninstall SAF5 and install the Shark007 codec pack I do not see any dropped frames. Any ideas where the problem could be? I am using Windows 7 64-bit with an Intel C2D 2.5GHz, AMD 5450 GPU, and bitsteaming audio to AMP.

    Cheers!

While installing SAF, I said 'yes' to the question whether or not SAF has to pass through HD-audio formats (DTS-HD etc.). But now in ffdshow audio, under 'Output', 'Pass through' part, only AC3 & DTS are selected. Is this right? My receiver is brand new and can decode all such formats.

There is two question - first one to enable passthrough, second to enable HD audio passthrough (only on Win7).

I've installed SAF 6.00 alpha, and now I have no mp4-splitters, and no flv-splitters according to the onlinevideos configuration.
Steps I've done (mixed with the occasional reboots):
    - download and install saf6.00: this uninstalled saf 4
    - install saf 6.00 again: found some divx remains, gave me the option to uninstall it: -> saf installer crashed
    - uninstalled divx
    - install saf 6.00 again: no errors/crashes but still no mp4 splitters.
    - uninstalled saf 6.00
    - install saf 6.00 again: no errors/crashes but still no mp4 splitters.

    log attached (renamed to txt)

However, flv's do play in mediaportal/onlinevideos (directly from site and also if downloaded), but mp4's only play when downloaded first.
So to make a long story short: Yes

Edit: I figured that the missing codecs at the onlinevideos configuration is probably because the configuration part of the plugin doesn't recognize the new LAVF splitter...

I mean the second one. I said 'yes' to enable HD passthrough. Did something go wrong or are my settings correct this way?

I was able to reproduce the crash. But SAF didnt crash, that is divx uninstaller what is crashing :)
Online Videos need filter detection update.
But that doesnot mater, online FLV/M4V/MP4 working just fine using LAVF spliter.

Can you navigate me to not working MP4? I didnt found any not working yet.

I will check that again. If HD formats are not enabled, just enable them.

Indeed it was divx that crashed, hope you were not offended :)
