Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

When I use the lavf splitter or any type of video I get a little jitter every 10 seconds or so...it doesn't drop frames and the lines are flat in "Shift+1" I'm wondering if any1 else is noticing this ? Is there a way to fix it?

Well hmm.. I see to know what's causing my jitter.. It's my TV! My samsung tv has a Motion Plus which increases the refresh rate or something .. If I turn the setting off then everything is normal.. But the "smooth" setting I can usually use on my PS3 which gives a fantasic picture and smoothness I cannot use on the PC

I tried again with SAF 5 and I get the jitter there also with the "smooth" setting on and it's normal with it off

oh well.. One of those mysteries that will never be solves for if you do it will drive you MAD.

    Hi Hoborg,

here my short review of testing.

    1. I used LAF Audio for TV / PDVD or MS-DTV --> everything was working, but after 30 - 40min i get heavy stuttering for 30 -60 sec.
After then everything is fine again. I testet this behavior with both Video Codec. Also it isn´t imporant if you watch SD or HD signal. If i use ffdshow Audio stuff everything is smooth.

    2. DVB-C Radio
with LAV i have to wait 30secs until the channel is played
with ffdshow max 5sec´s and i can hear something

    3. Video stuff
i reported problems with ffdshow dxva + LAV. I will test if i have the same problems if i use ffdshow audio

Could somebody confirm this behavior ?

    P.S.
I use a Multiseat Setup. Clean Install W7 x64 without any installed codec or something like this

    Hi All,
After many months of messing with codecs and playing around with SAF 5 i just wasn't getting the results i needed until SAF 6!
I installed it along with a new video card and everything is now working perfectly:D
One issue i had however was my mkvs would start to stutter after 10-15 mins and the cpu usage would go through the roof.
However i was able to sort it and hopefully this will benefit somebody else, i just disabled DXVA in ffdshow and hey presto no more problems!
Fast forward searching in large MKVs is much much better only maybe 1-2 secs to adjust, if that and cpu usage is around 12%.
A big thanks to Hoborg for all his work:D

    Cheers

    Hi.
Looks like FFDshow DXVA decoder need an big update...
There is nothing i can do with that :/
I am thinking to recommend using PDVD11 decoder as primary video decoder for MePo.

Hmm, nobody report a/v sync issue in LAVF thread yet.
Well, next .25 LAVF rev. should be out soon, then i will release new SAF6 SVN.
LAVF .25 should fix issue with MS demultiplexer. Thanks to this i can start using it on my HTPC, so i can start some testing.
