Re: AW: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Hmm.. just checked the mkv we watched last night and it is still out of sync with SVN20110718.

Tried it in Graphstudio and it is fine, however Graphstudio is using ffdshow codec, whereas Mediaportal is set to use PDVD 11.

How do I force Graphstudio to use PDVD11?

Disable h.264 decoding in FFDshow DXVA/FFDshow decoders.

I did that, but it still showed ffdshow on the graph? Does it need a restart after disabling?

Maybe it is MPEG-2? If you disable codec in FFDshow, it wont load to graph = you did something wrong.

on signal (or something like that) as if there is nothing connected to that HDMI port

No signal, wonder if the video driver crashed and recovered, which driver are you currently using, 11.4 seems to be the last recommended one for video.

and if reproduceable, export logs using option 3 in debug mode, so we can see if this has happened.
I'm using Catalyst 11.6. I'll check EventViewer next time, to see if it gives any insight about that.

As I said before, when I click arrow keys on the remote the signal comes back. But the interesting thing is, if I use aMPdroid (+WifiRemote) to use arrow keys, signal doesn't come back (but the arrow keys still works).
I resolved my "No video signal" issue which was apparently related to Power Options --> "Turn off the display: 20mins" setting. But I never set that to 20mins, it was supposed to be set to Never... Maybe it was a side-effect of driver update or windows update or something else (maybe a nosy guest?).

Just wanted to inform you =)

AW: Re: AW: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF) Trojan Allert ?!

Nonsence. I didnt touch safkey.exe for ~2 years. No virus reported here by Avast! (and newer was).
You can check the files by some online virus scaner.

Looks like Kaspersky have some false detection.

I deinstall KIS and Install Avira Premium Security. I test a Windosimage Image from Sunday and here the same, too.:eek:

    Hi there,

German: Ich habe die Datei an Avira zur Kontrolle gesandt und es wurde mir eine fehlerhafte Viruserkennung bestätigt. Das Problem sollte mit dem nächsten Update behoben sein.

English: I sent the file to the Avira Virus Lab and they confirmed a false positive recognition of it. This problem schould be corrected by the next Update.

    :D

    to Avira and Kaspersky?

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I read this post and can add some precisions.
-The files lock on installation problem is when the user activate the TV cards preloading, the graph is build at MP start. You should stop MP TV server during the install.
-The .exe locked occurs sometime when the user stop the Application Experience and Program Compatibility Assistant services
    -You should read this : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ity-development-81148/index31.html#post772502 ;-)

So I start to use again SAF6, LAV audio codecs seem to run fine now but I need to make some modification to have the result I want ;-)
(And FYI I need also to reinstall AC3file, if not, 90% of my DTS files send noise to the amplifier)

    best regards

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I have installed saf to try and play dts-hd ma except when i select lav as the audio decoder I get no sound at all out of any of my movies. I have attached a picture of what graphstudio shows me of one of my movies.
I have tried uninstalling saf and using different version and this will work for a while the splitter will connect with the decoder and then I do get sound. But if I load a dts-hd ma movie into graphstudio it might crash and upon restating it the lav audio decoder wont be used any more on any movie.

why is this happening and how can i succesfully get a movie with dts-ha to play?

    thanks

What OS/GPU do you have? Is your GPU connected with reciever by HDMI? Do you have unlocked SAF installed?

-For the stopped services, if someone else validate my conclusion you can just add a warning message :)

-I'm sure that you read this thread, I just speak of my modest post (with a link to my config).
I confirm that the MPC AviSplitter.ax and MPC MatroskaSplitter.ax give me better (perfect) video.

-For DTS music I continue tests, many friends come see my htpc this WE, I want a perfect config. I will reinstall SAF after and can made samples files.

SAF unlocked, windows 7 64, Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H, Nidia 9400, 8 GB ram, hdmi connected, all full HD. DTS/AC3 but not HD due to the Nvidia.

First challenge : something very hard to play :)

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I've had a problem forever with OnlineVideos playing iPlayer 1280x720 programmes as shown in the picture below.

I checked with Graphstudio, which showed it was using ffdshowDXVA, but if I downloaded the programme and played it, it used PowerDVD11 and had no artificats.

I tried changing all the MP Codec settings that were on ffdshowDXVA to PowerDVD11 (the one in Videos and one in TV) but OV still used ffdshowDXVA when streaming these HD programmes.

I then messed around in ffdshowDXVA and manually changed from the default preset to the xSD one. I think the main difference is the latter doesn't have hardware acceleration ticked for H264. After doing this, OV changed to using normal ffdshow the next time I played the programme and there were no artifacts. I'm not sure why changing the preset has made OV switch which codec it uses.

So the solution seems to be to make ffdshow and not ffdshowDXVA play these files. I'm not really sure how I've done this though or if I've disabled DXVA for everything else, so if you could find a way to incorporate this adjustment into SAF that would be great.

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

i'm using powerdvd on onlinevideos for almost all formats.

i've just disable support for h264 in ffdshowdxva and for h264 and mpg2 and 4 formats in ffdshow video (except for xvid, divx and derived codecs).

i suppose after that setup you won't be able to using ffdshow in MP for h264 , but you can still use powerdvd for h264 in MP ;)
