I googled this refresh rate changer but I found it's for Windows Media Center. Where can I find more infos for MP?

I have a strange problem - I switched from a GTX460 to a passive GT430 so I could then use LAV video decoder without fan noise.

I have a single seat setup in living room, and a client setup in the kitchen. On living room machines codecs for MKV's and TV series are set to use LAV video codec. Live TV set to use PDVD12. Kitchen is set to use PDVD12 for everything since it has a ATI card in it.

However, if I play a MKV in the living room, then live TV in the kitchen breaks up and eventually freezes. If I use PDVD12 codec for MKV instead, then all is fine, but then I have no 10-bit support :-(

Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

    I'm using Windows 7 with latest SAF609

    Cheers!

EDIT: altered post as got confused over which codec was on which machine!

Do you have an HDMI AV Receiver between your TV and the HTPC?

I have this kind of configuration (TV->AVR->HTPC all connected through HDMI) and experience stutters and all the videos don't play smooth with SAF 6.0.9 (or older). I have an ATI card with 12.2 drivers in my HTPC.

No I haven't. But also without it Windows 7 did not recognize my TV properly while it did with the previous install. Same hardware setup except the SSD. But I needed to reinstall to a new SSD. I always experienced different behaviour of Windows (all versions) during different installs

Which driver are you using, misght be worthwhile using the Tesla one's, did you uninstall driver before fitting new card, this can screwup the codecs as I have found on occasional driver update, so uninstall any package you have first, then install driver, now put SAF6 or LAV filters back and reboot again.

Hopefully everything should now behave correctly.

I did a complete rebuild of Windows 7 and installed the latest NVIDIA drivers.. Not using the Tesla ones.. I could try those.

It also seems to affect recordings on the single seat, so not sure what is going on.

I have checked perf mon, and cpu usage never gets above around 28% - memory usage is about 1/3 of total physical.

Switching back to PDVD12 and everything is fine!

Well I'm currently stuck on 290.53, if I upgrade the TDR's come back, making pc unuseable, NVidia have promised that the next series 3 range of whql drivers this will be fixed

But there are also some weird graphics (desktop) and video corruption being reported with new drivers, the opinion seems to be use the 275, which also happens to be the Tesla stable release, so definitely worth a look at.
