Hi guys,

I've read some interesting information about some new SAT>IP standard by Astra in the CT magazin (which is one of the larger german it news magazin).

This standard will probably become some industry standard next year. The idea is to have some "server" hardware which is connected to your dvb-s2 antenna and which streams (without transcoding) through your lan/wlan.

I'm not exactly sure if there is also some epg information stream or whatelse (hadn't time to read the article completely) but it sounds that something new is coming.

Has someone heard about this before? Didn't someone think about some possible implementations or some attaching to such a system?

CT wrote that Astra will ship the hardware with DVB Viewer in the "Lite" version (some really good DVB software). At least this new standard could be some competition to MediaPortal and perhaps it would be some good decision to talk about it at least.
