I think the current split of menu options between the myTV and recordedTV screens is not intuituve.

I sometimes want to go in and check scheduled recordings or active recordings without actually starting full screen TV. I do however want full screen TV to start up when I (well the gf) presses myTV from home menu.

Adding these options to recordedTV would add a bit of usability?

The issue I guess is that you either have two clicks to get into live TV (myTV and then enable TV) which is not intuitive or two clicks to get to the menu (myTV and then back and each time this starts full screen TV)

It is not too user-friendly when you have to go into TV and then go back to the options.

I think this is where the MCE remote comes into things, as it has the dedicated buttons to be able to go straight to Recordings\TVGuide, which makes things a lot easier.
But if you have ever used sky+, still think the way MP displays its menu's is a lot better

AFAIK there is no way to map these extra buttons to a normal remote, or more to the point cannot remember any

I have the MCE remote and I can easily get to the recorded TV screen (I had not thought about life without MCE remote as I guess this is even more compicated!!)

The issue I find is the options which are not on the recorded TV screen. These only exist on the TV screen so unless I am missing something (which I normally do) you can only get to the scheduled recordings list or search the EPG by going to myTV (and for me this means launching full screen TV and then going back to the menu screen)

Actually thinking about it, would be nice if scheduled recordings could be accessed from the recorded TV screen, no biggie as i really don't look at scheduled, because they already show in TVGuide, but for someone with a few hundred channels, expect that to be much more used.

Think you should rename title of thread to incorporate "Scheduled Recordings inside Recorded TV view".
