I am having trouble getting SD to play nice. I have cable going to my box and I have SD set up with it and it gathers information. BUT .... it seems to assign the wrong information to the channels. For example, if I go on TV Guide and select CBS I will end up on a different channel. All the information is there and the information is accurate, but it is pointed to the wrong channels.

I have reloaded MP & SD a few times. Any other thoughts. I am in Canada and I assigned that to the SD plugin. What am I missing??? (of course, the sheer volume of what I am missing might crash the forum!!!!:D )

thanks

Jim

Jim,

I'm a longtime GBPVR user and it's SD integration is wonderful. I'm an occasional MP user (just came back to it after a long period of having it removed since it never was very stable on my system). But the eye-candy (StreamedMP) drew me back last week:)

Last week I installed MP 1.1.1 and tried setting up SD. (They say Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Well, my reaction with trying to get it running might give the XX a run for her money!) I only had success last night, after a total reinstall of XP home, drivers, and nothing but MP.

First: are you trying to grab two different data sets from SD? If you have two different line-ups, as I do for ATSC and Cable from SD, then you'll have to runn xmltv to grab the two line-ups and then concatenate them with xmltvgui. (Actually, I would recommend doing this even if you have a single line-up.) Then make sure that, after you map the channels to the card(s), the correct channel is selected under the "Guide channel" column. This was the single most time-consumming and not-very-obvious issue which I had with the ATSC line-ups, because I had three different options for any give channel: an "fcc" version and two others. If any one of the channels was wrong, the EPG load would fail.

Thanks for the reply, but after months of playing with MP and having *stuff* go wrong, I gave up. I mostly loved the TV-Series plugin (and I don't think there is a better one anywhere), but it lost its database several times in the last couple of months. Add to that my frustration with Schedules Direct and the fact that MP runs dog slow on my old machine (and hangs it altogether from time to time) and I packed it in.

I tried virtually all of the packages out there and settled on the latest beta of XBMC. Amazing! Running the Transparency skin I have almost as good of a control over TV series and I am quickly learning how to get everything I wanted. It is lightning fast on my machine and hasn't hung yet. Sometime you have to go back to the roots .....

thanks anyway
