SchedulesDirect EPG plugin with thetvdb information (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
I am using the schedules direct plugin. I have been trying to get the 'thetvdb" information into my guide but I don't seem to be getting something right. I checked the box to search thetvdb in the SchedulesDirect EPG client, and I added one series, specifically, "The Big Bang Theory|id=80379". The plugin indicates to use the Schedules Direct name for the show, I put in title as it appears in the EPG under the assumption this name comes from Schedules Direct. If it is somehow different I could use some direction. At any rate, my EPG is populated, but when I compare the episode synopsis with what appears in thetvdb, it is not the same. The description is probably what comes directly from SchedulesDirect. I turned on the debug logging in the plugin, and I am attaching a zip from the MediaPortal debug watchdog. Thank you for any direction or experience you might be able to share.

I took a look at your logs... the following lines tell me that you don't have any programs scheduled to record yet:

2012-03-30 12:16:34.451000 [TvDbThread(11)]: SD-TvDb: Start asynch update of tvdb.com info for all schedule recordings.  Total number: 0

It's been a while since looking at this code, but iirc, it will only update tvdb info on shows that are scheduled to record. So, add a recording for big bang theory and kick of another epg update to see if it gets updated.

Thanks for the quick response. You are right I did not have any shows scheduled. I just added a scheduled The Big Bang Theory and refreshed the guide. I still don't get the description from thetvdb though, I've attached a new log, for reference.
I see that you are one of the developers for the SchedulesDirect Plugin, very clever craftsmanship, and I have to say that guys like you inspire me. Thanks for your work and for watching the forums for questions like mine. It's quite astounding to me that all this cooperative effort works out with tools that are so helpful and usable.

Odd, you are correct, the episodes did update, with the exception of the one episode I checked. It was Nerdvana Anihilation S01E14, the single episode I had marked for recording. It still has the old description. At any rate, I am fine with all that now. Thanks for your help.

Hi! I too just started using Schedules Direct recently and I am interested in knowing the various selections in the "Advanced Options" tab. What are the default settings and which are (or not) recommended. Can you please point me in the right direction? Thank you! (I did a search yet did see anything specific)

ya... I had always meant to properly document the other screens in the plugin but I just haven't had time

I took the plugin working already and added the tvdb stuff so I'm not as familiar with all the bells and switches...

however we can try to run through them here to get it documented and copy the result to the wiki on googlecode of you like.

Anyone upgraded to MP 1.2.3 I seem to have lost my guide? 1.2.2 was working fine.

UPDATE : It was empty for 4 days, now it is full again?

I still have that problem with 1.2.3, yes. Took a while to show since I had 13 days of data. Definitely an error in starting SD, seen in the logs. Is it compatible with 1.2.3?

I didn't notice any delays in getting data after my upgrade to MP 1.2.3. Mine seems to be working just fine.
