I've been a long time supporter and user of Mediaportal. When I ran it on my previous machine (P4 3ghz Prescott with HT, 2gb of ddr3000) I had NO problems. What is happening is when I pull up the videos dir, in any view (covers, icons, list, etc) I get a stutter when trying to browse them. These movies are a mix of dvd images, xvid, dvix, and mpg. This happens with keyboard or remote. I have around 192 movies, all with cover art. No DB setup. I have adjusted the thumbs in the config to the lowest setting to no avail. </p><p></p><p>Example, I open up mediaportal, I get the movies opened up, and I start browsing with my remote down, it goes down to the end of the viewable screen, and just stalls. I actually had Vista close mediaportal once because it was "not responding". I've went into the config, disabled, renabled, tweaked everything I could think of. I wiped it, clean install, same thing. I wiped it, installed vista, same thing. I DO NOT get this on Media center (xp or vista) at ALL. I can browse smoothly. I know its a different coding, so maybe thats it.
