Greetings MediaPortal Community!
At the moment i'm searching the right media solution for my home. I have one PC in basement for working and a Server for media, files and printing. The server is at the moment a LinuxMCE 0710 (with MythTV), Cups, Samba and two TV-Cards (WinTV-PVR-150 and a BT878 card). I use the Server also for watching TV in the basement, it's a hybrid (server and client). In the livingroom is a mediaMVP and in the first floor a Laptop. I also use a HTC Universal as a whole house remote. Home automation (Z-Wave or KNX) is planned for the future.

My probs with the LinuxMCE are:
- Mainboard not full supported (K10N78FullHD-hSLI R3.0) -> Sata as IDE, NVidia Drivers for the GeForce 8200 have to be compiled in the Kernel with every Kernel change, hibernation not supported (important for me)
- MediaMVP only under MythTV with mvpmc
- No German GUI (important for my wife and children)

My goal is to stream tv in the whole house from one machine to clients (incl. mediaMVP), use the server for network shares, have a calendar and e-mail client for the whole family on every screen in the house (wall mounted touch computers are planned for that) and use my Fritz!Card USB as an answering machine with the possibility to hear the messages on the clients in the house.

I'm not focused on linux, through the better driver support, Windows could be an alternative.
Does MediaPortal fit my needs? Perhaps not for all my needs, but TV-Streaming with a server/client architecture and the mediaMVP?
I'm a little confused about the mediaMVP. In some threads of this forum is said that it is not supported (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-talk-233/hauppage-mvp-35525/) and others have a different statement (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-replacement-versions-internet-browser-42028/) or am i getting something wrong?

greez,
tony
