Sorry for double posting the same question as Benoe. That will teach me to try and read this forum on my mobile ;) So I've been getting into this PDA access thing. This is a bit off topic, but possibly of interest to those who want to use this interface remotely. The big problem I have is how to wake up the HTPC (which uses Powerscheduler to standby), when I'm out and about and want to schedule a recording. I found a couple of web based WOL services: Depicus WOL Online - PDA/Phone Version I've punched a port through my firewall (used UDP port 9, which is standard for WOL protocol), and can send WOL packets from these services into my network. Packets are definitely being received (confirmed with wireshark trace), but I couldn't get it to wake up the HTPC. So then I got the little client that depicus has, loaded it up on another PC, and got it to send a magic packet. Success..... HTPC wakes up. The difference between the local magic packet and the one from the internet (other than the source IP address) is that the local packet is a broadcast (255.255.255.255) and the one from the website is a unicast (NAT on the router changes it from the router's address to the HTPC address). It must be that my ethernet adaptor is only recognising broadcast magic packets, not unicast magic packets. Somewhat predictably, I couldn't get my router to NAT to a broadcast address. Does anybody out their have these internet WOL solutions working through a NAT firewall?
