Mantis ID 0002311 added a feature so that multiple episode were not continually recorded. This can be based on episode title or episode number, this information must be included in the EPG information. 0002311: TV-Server should not record [series] schedules that are already present - MediaPortal Bugtracker

I get my EPG from DVB-EPG via freeview (UK) and freesat. Looking at the xml file for the recorded show the episode name, show number series etc is not included and therefore I cannot use this feature. However the comment for the shows are included and for most series the comment is different for each episode. For example two different shows would look similar to this

    name>COMMENT</name>
<value>2/7. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to find a trio of cars which are equally at home on the race track as they are transporting a family to the shops. </value>

    name>COMMENT</name>
<value>1/7. Motoring show. Jeremy Clarkson asks why there aren't more three-wheeled cars in the world, while James May attempts to drive a Toyota Hilux up an active volcano in Iceland. </value>

Could it be possible to add an episode key (under tv server recording configuration) of "check by comment" to stop multiple recordings?

I do not think this would not work for shows that always have the same comment for example daily news. This already has appears to have a similar issue under mantis number 0002783

0002783: Not possible to schedule show running multiple times on a day. - MediaPortal Bugtracker

In this instance, if it is a program which will always have the same comment maybe it could be possible to add a "record every time on this channel and ignore duplication checking"?
