Ok guys. I looked into running an HTPC server/client setup via mythtv a few years back and really never got around to doing it right. However my wife and I have purchased a new house and during the remodel I made an "Electronics" closet that is basically master command. From here I have CAT6 lines pulled to every room in the house that will/might have a TV in it. I have a Gigabit network switch in the closet to disperse internet, and or media server. I also have 2 cable lines running into the closet from an outdoor mounted HDTV antenna.

What I want to do is have a main server in the closet tied to our outdoor HDTV antenna, and be able to store all local media on this server. Then in each room have a smaller "client" be able to pull live/recorded TV and all stored media from the server. Basically just a frontend, with minimal storage and power.

I've tried doing google searches for client/server setups, but could not really find any good reads on MediaPortal. Does MP have this capability?

Wow, how'd I miss that??? Thanks for the quick answer, that's just what I needed to know. Now I can go ahead and start buying my frontend equipment.

    Hi bwhite,

I use MP in a server / client setup. The server has 3 x dual DVB-T & DVB-S cards, and this streams over a EOP network to a Zotac Zbox client in the kitchen and the bedroom. I get full HD streaming too. I use MCE RC6 remotes on all units for ease of use by the GF.

There are some good setups noted >>here<<
