I know the plug-in replaces the tv part. But MP is sluggish after that, even locally on my server. And that is a new and fast pc on which MP standalone really flies.I can't really get zapping to work on any pc; it simply states 'time shifting; no tv card available', and sometimes locks up after that. Tried several builds; same result. I use a very common setup with a FloppyDTV (latest fw, latest driver) that has no problem whatsoever with MP stand alone. And what is with the constant time shifting? Can't that be done different/better? That part is very different from MP stand alone. Other streaming solutions don't do it like that but work nevertheless. Channel view is very different (ugly!) and the guide seems somewhat different too.The way codecs are used seems to differ also. I use ffdshow to deinterlace my content. Because of the streaming this is different also and causes the overall quality to suffer. I could live with that on the clients, but as my server has a HD beamer attached to it good quality here is crucial. Is it in someway possible to have the standalone MP running (on the server pc) when not using the tvserver? (and have a disabled tvserver service?) That could solve my biggest problem.I know that there are a lot of happy server/client users out there. Darn, that's why I installed and tried it. And when I do something wrong then that's allright too. But I have no problem installing MP or server/client version and used different installs on different pc's. All with the same result. It wasn't meant as criticism alone as I am more than pleased with the standalone version. I kind of hoped that server/client would be a similar experience. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.--My remarks on the documents have nothing to do with my trouble getting server/client to work. I know that keeping good documentation is very time consuming work. But maybe you could try to use some sort of version control and use only one location for a document on a certain subject. Like your version control on the svn's.Good luck with that.
