First post here and hopefully there is someone who can help a newbie
I have nearly 2,000 movies that i have transcoded and used Media Centre Master to find the posters, and metadata for all of them. I was using Windows media centre with Media browser but Media Portal seems a lot better as it can do everything in one App.
I think i have most of it roughly worked out except for how to get all of Media Center Masters info into MP. MCM keeps an individual metadata file in each movies directory and not in a database. I loaded MyMovies but that seems to only import a database. I installed Ant But that doesn't seem to have a way to scrape the folders to create a DB.
Any ideas on the best way to proceed?
Manually searching from within MP will take forever
Ant doesn't seem to recognise the XML files MCM created

Mike

    Hi Mike

As Furetto say MovPics can be set to scan folders for your nfo\artwork enable setting before adding any folders to be scanned, I use MediaCenter Master myself as a standalone just to get this information into TV\Film folders, so know it works.

    Hi Mike,

As both PD and Furetto have said install both MovingPictures and IMDB+ scraper.

I have just scanned over 600+ movies using MovingPictures and it is pretty much flawless. I save my movies as "It's a Wonderful Life (1946).avi" and all works great. MovingPictures grabs the fanart, cover art and summary.

    HTH,

    Thanks guys
I have been playing for 1 day now and i had found moving pictures. It did get the info into the database but i'm not sure how i did it. I have been playing with My movies and IMBD+ at the same time. There are so many new things to learn it is all a bit of a head spin. Was a lot easier to just to just use windows explorer and click on the movie to play but that has no watched feature or TV obviously so time to step up
I ended up installing StreamedMP and got the menues as i wanted them.
Now i just have to transfer it all to the PC i will be using on the TV.

    Thanks again
    Mike
