Hi everybody!

This is my first post on the forums and I'm an absolutely newbie with MP so... please don't shoot at me very soon :)

I'm coming from Vista MCE 32 bits to the world of MP, and this is going a kind of rough to me.

I think I've succesfully installed MP 2.3 final and TVServer engine 0.3. Rev 16600 on both of them, configured as a single seat system.

I've one dual DVB-T tuner (Hauppauge Nova-T) and one analog tuner (Hauppauge PVR150) for capturing an external SVHS line in from a STB. I've original MS MCE remote and keyboard.

I managed to have the DVB-T tuners working fine, and created several channels on the SVHS#1 port for hosting the channels of the STB. Right now I can watch the STB through any of them, BUT having to change the STB channel with the STB remote.

Leaving apart by now the config of the EPG, I would like to arrange the system for sending IR commands to the STB, in order to properly change the STB tuning when I go to such channels.

After taking some tests, I've finally installed a configured IR Server Suite (last version, 12-02-2007, as far as I remember) to do so. I have one of the standard STBs already supported for it (Pioneer 1540), so it was pretty fast and simple to put it on. I can use the "test" button on the plugin and it does succesfully operate the STB sending the IR commands and changing the channels.

Nevertheless, when I try to make a real test on MP and go to the SVHS channels, it simply do nothing. The IR blaster remains silent as if it was no business with him. :p On the other hand, the IR Server Suite seems to work fine with any other use: navigating through menus, using DVB-T, and so on...

I've been past 2 days (and some of their nights) reading on forums, making tons of tests and spending hours and hours on this issue but I'm unable to solve it. I really suppose that I'm missing something basic.

I've seen several posts talking about setting the channels as "external", but many of them refer to older versions of MP, TVServer or MCE Replacement plugin, so all of them seems not of use on my case. And of course I've not found some sort of guide for this.

What am I missing on? On TVServer setup, I've just configured the channels setting up a channel number, the source from SVHS#1, and later mapping them to the analog card.

I would greatly appreciate any kind of help with this. :)

    Hey,

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't notice your post when you made it.

I've been meaning to write a tutorial for setting up STBs with IR Server Suite and MediaPortal, but I never find the time.

It sounds like you've done everything right, but just to be sure, can you send me the IR Server (or Input Service if you're using the new version) log file from an attempt? Oh, and the MediaPortal log too please.

This will show me exactly where the message is getting lost ... whether MediaPortal/TV Server isn't sending it or maybe the plugin isn't acting on it.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

I just installed IR Server Suite today and I have the same problem, I have set up the channels in TV3 but when i change the channels in MP, the blaster does nothing. But it works when I use the "test" button in the TV3 IR Blaster configuration.

I checked the TV3 error logs and it was filled with these messages:

There is an updated TV3 Blaster plugin in the 1.0.4.1 thread that should fix this problem. it will be fixed in the next version too.

    Cheers,
