fill out the template..fill out the template...fill out the template... lol that and "use the search function" is just what folks say to add to their post count even when they have nothing constructive to add

MCE has it's own services running that locks the tuner and you might need to stop them...

Right-click on My Computer, click Manage, expand Services and Applications and click on Services. Right-click on Media Center Receiver Service and select Stop and repeat it for Media Center Scheduler Service.

Hope that works for you.

Sarcasm does not become this Forum.

Also Sony has a way (like a few other ELITE brands) of tying you into there own software/hardware, so I hope your idea works because I cannot find his TV card on the supported list (where i looked first)

oops bumped the posts up again Ta

Your right of course, but it's amazing how many times a person (such as myself) searches for a solution to a problem on this board because most likely someone else has already encountered it and comes up with that phrase. I apologize for the sarcasm. Congrats on the post count :D

His Sony is running MCE so that may be the problem.

I doubt it, as MediaPortal kills any MCE processes that may interefere, and then starts them again upon exit.

It is more likely that his TV card is not supported by Mediaportal... :(

Here's the info on getting a TV card added to the MediaPortal supported group.
