Hi son_t

I think you may be using an old version of WebEPG as it had to be updated recently because Radio Times had added the line "In accessing this XML feed, you agree that you will only access its contents for your own personal and non-commercial use and not for any commercial or other purposes, including advertising or selling any goods or services, including any third-party software applications available to the general public." at the start of the XML data where WebEPG expected programme data.

I believe James has fixed this in February so the new version is in SVNs from then on (see thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/webepg-136/tvguide-radio-times-grabber-54613/) The versions in this thread may be the updated ones so might fix your problem.

This has fixed the problem. Although there are still channels with no EPG data, which I suspect is due to the website not having the relevant data...

I wonder if there a plug-in that gathers data from everywhere (say from the Sky/Freesat transponders) and combine with web sources, etc to produce a complete and accurate EPG...

Check out Big Kev's EPG downloader, it can take multiple sources of xmltv data, including local xml files you create with WebEPG, map them to individual channels and import them directly into the TV database. The beauty of this program, unlike the xmltv plugin, is that it doesn't "overwrite" any channels that you may be getting data via the DVB stream.
