I have an analog tuner that receives TVNZ channel TV One at NZ [cable] channel 7. The associated frequency is 55.25 MHz. I changed the channel number from 7 -> 1 and frequency from 0 -> 55.25 and tuning still worked. Note that I'm using XP SP3. This trick relies on writing registry entries to overwrite the default local frequency associated with the channel number.
